Elon Phoenix takes down Drexel

Philadelphia PA: On Saturday January 3 from Daskalaskis Athletic Center on campus of Drexel University, conference play opened up as Drexel Dragons hosted Elon Phoenix, this was the 1st CAA conference game for Elon as they join the CAA from the Southern Conference. Drexel comes into game off a loss to Iona on December 28 while Elon enters game off a win over Marist.
Elon got the ball to begin the game, and the games first points came from Drexel Tavon Allen, Elon got on board a few seconds latter from layup by Austin Hamilton. There were multiple ties in the 1st half with the last one being 12-12 with 12:51 left in the half, Elon would take over mostly from 3 PT range as they would drop 10 three pointers on 15 attempts and would also grown the lead up to 20 points, there were some very questionable calls by the referee including not showing the hand motion for 5 second call, Bruiser was very close to getting a technical foul. Elon lead 46-28 at halftime.
Drexel got ball to begin the 2nd half, Drexel would make effort to get back into game and at times they got the lead down as to 10 points with 2:16 left and score of 68-58. Elon was just too much for Drexel as Elon rolls in their 1st conference win in the CAA by defeating Drexel 77-67.

Elijah Bryant: 32 points, 7 rebounds, 9-10 from foul line, 3-4 from 3 PT range
