Wildcats take down Cougars on Thanksgiving Eve

Villanova PA: As the entire nation prepares for the Thanksgiving Holiday, most of the college teams were in action and that is what we had on Wednesday night as the number 2 team in the nation, the Villanova wildcats took on College of Charleston Cougars from the Pavilion on the Campus of Villanova University. Villanova enters the game with a (5-0) record and off a win over UCF in the Championship game of Charleston Classic on November 20 while College of Charleston comes into game against Wildcats with (3-2) record and off a loss to Wake Forrest in the 3rd place game of the Charleston Classic also on November 20. Before the game Villanova would announce that Kris Jenkins would not start the game because he missed a class, Eric Paschall got the start, Jenkins would enter the game at the 1st sub of game.
Villanova won the tip to start the game and scored right away on dunk by Eric Paschall for the early 2-0 lead, College of Charleston got on board on 3 pointer by Joe Chealey for 3-2 lead, Cameron Johnson would make it 5-2 for the Cougars, Wildcats would respond back on 3 by Josh Hart to tie the game at 5, from there the Wildcats would just take full control of the game which saw then grow the lead up to 16 at 30-14 with 5:05 left in the half. the Wildcats would take a 2 touchdown lead into halftime leading 35-21.
College of Charleston would get ball to start the 2nd half to try to get back into the game as they got the lead down to 12 at 37-25 with 16:56 left. Both teams would have some strange shooting performances in this game, the Wildcats would increase the lead to 23 at 57-34 with 6:30 left and College of Charleston just did not have enough fire power to make it for an exciting finish. a Sellout crowd of 6500 saw the Wildcats fight out a 63-47 win over College of Charleston to head into the Thanksgiving break. With the win the Wildcats go to 6-0 on the season and now head into Big 5 Play on November 29 when they take on Penn at the Palestra. With the loss, College of Charleston falls to 3-3 on the season and now prepare for USC Upstate on November 27.
