Wildcats take apart Golden Eagles

Philadelphia PA: There is always a time during the season that a team suffers a loss and see how they respond and that is what we had at the Wells Fargo Center in South Philadelphia on Saturday night as the Villanova Wildcats took on Marquette Golden Eagles. Villanova enters the game with a record of  (14-1, 2-1 in Big East) and off their first loss of the season to Bulter on January 4 while Marquette comes into battle against Villanova with a (10-4, 1-1 in Big East) and off a loss to Seton Hall on January 1. This was the 1st of 4 games that Villanova will play at the Wells Fargo Center this season.

Marquette won tip to start the game and they would score the games first points on basket from Markus Howard, the Wildcats got on the board with 3 pointer by Kris Jenkins. Marquette would try to keep this game close as they would make some big 3 pointers as they would cut the wildcats lead down to 7 at 38-31 with 1:13 left. Jalen Brunson would have a golden opportunity to add to the lead but his shot would hit the front of the rim as Villanova took a 44-33 lead into halftime.

Villanova got ball to start the 2nd half and the Wildcats would jump all over the Golden Eagles as the lead would go as high as 30 points at 82-52 with 8:21 left. The Golden Eagles would go on a run which was too little too late as a  crowd of 16,891 saw the Villanova Wildcats rebound from their first loss on the season as they take down Marquette 93-81.
