Show Love, Vote Chooch

The Philadelphia Phillies front office knew they had a dilemma coming in to the 2012 baseball season. With Ryan Howard (Achilles) and Chase Utley (Knee) missing the beginning of the season, Charlie Manuel knew his players would have to step up and no one has had a bigger impact on the field than fan favorite Carlos Ruiz.

Through the first 67 games of the season Ruiz has appeared in all but 5. Battling through aches and pains Ruiz is still in the lineup day in and day out. Carlos Ruiz leads all Major League catchers in batting (.354), slugging (.579) and OPS (1.003)  and his on-base-percentage (.422) is second only behind Dodgers catcher A.J. Ellis (.428). Not to mention Ruiz tops Posey and Molina by an RBI.

Carlos Ruiz is currently third on the voting ballot for catchers in the National League behind leader Buster Posey (Giants) and Yadier Molina (Cardinals) which were released Tuesday. Buster Posey tops catchers with 2,445,005 votes while Yadier Moliana is slightly behind him with 2,391,567 votes. Chooch is sitting third on the list with 1,756,018 but is gaining ground quietly. Last Tuesday Ruiz totaled in with 1,191,194.

Carlos Ruiz needs the support from the best fans in the game to send him to the Mid Summer Classic in Kansas City. Fans can cast their votes up to 25 times until Thursday, June 28, at 8:59 p.m. If you have a pulse, VOTE NOW!
