Villanova defeats Providence in Dramatic Style in Big East Semifinals

New York NY: The four best teams in the Big East took center stage at Madison Square Garden on Friday night in the semifinals of the 2015 Big East Tournament. Villanova the number 1 seed in the tournament and defeated Marquette in the quarterfinals while Providence was the 4th seed and defeated St John’s in the Quarterfinals.
Villanova won tip to start the game, Providence opens the scoring with 3 pointer by LaDontae Henton, Villanova got on board with 2 pointer by Darrun Hilliard, Hiliard would score Villanova 7 straight points to start the game. This has been a very lose, tight played game. both teams would go on runs and the crowd at Madison Square Garden was enjoying what they saw. Villanova took a 33-28 lead at Halftime.
Providence got ball to start 2nd half, miss shot and Villanova came down and hot three pointer by Ryan Arcidiacono. Both teams made this an very exciting game, Both times Villanova would hit some big shots and Providence would answer back with their own run to keep the game close. Villanova Darrun Hilliard would take a very bad foul and it would also end his fight with 57 seconds left. Providence would tie the game at 61 with 12 seconds left on basket by Kris Dunn after they stole the inbound pass from Villanova, Villanova would retake the lead on 2 big foul shots with 3 seconds left by Ryan Arcidiacono. Villanova would win the game 63-61 and make their 1st Big East Championship game since 1997 and will play Xavier in the championship game.
