Villanova Upsets #2 Kansas in Battle 4 Atlantis

(PARADISE ISLAND, Bahamas) On Friday November 29 from Imperial Arena in Paradise Island, Nassau , Bahamas. The semifinals of Battle 4 Atlantis took place as Villanova Wildcats took on the number 2 ranked Kansas Jayhawks. Villanova came into game off a win over USC in the quarterfinals, while Kansas came into game off a win over Wake Forrest in the quarterfinals. The game was broadcasted on NBC Sports Network with Terry Gannon, Stan Van Gundy calling the action & it was broadcasted locally on TalkRadio 1210 WPHT with Whitey Risby & Steve Pinone calling the action.
Kansas won the opening tip to start the game & the games first points came from Kansas Wayne Selden Jr with a 2 handed dunk, Villanova first points of game came from James Bell on a dead ball foul & in the process making a foul shot. at one point Kansas had a 11-2 lead until Villanova went on a run & tied the game at 19 on a Dylan Enis layup with 5 minutes left in first half. Few minutes latter Villanova took its 1st lead of game when JayVaughn Pinkston makes 2 foul shots for a 21-19 lead, Villanova took a 29-22 lead into Halftime.
Kansas starts 2nd half with ball & both teams would trade baskets to open the 2nd half. Villanova would lead the entire 2nd half until Kansas made a run & take the lead at 59-58 with 33 seconds left on a Frank Mason basket & foul. the play of the game would happen as Villanova Ryan Arcidiacono hits 3 pointer with 10 seconds left to give Villanova the lead again at 61-59 & James Bell would hit 2 foul shouts to ice the game as Villanova would Upset #2 Kansas 63-59 and will play Iowa in the Championship game of Battle 4 Atlantis on Saturday at 9:30PM EST.
