Villanova takes apart Georgetown

Philadelphia PA: An old school Big East rivalry took center stage at Wells Fargo Center in South Philadelphia on Saturday February 7 as Number 7 Ranked Villanova Wildcats hosted 24th ranked Georgetown Hoyas. Villanova enters game off a win over Marquette on February 4 while Georgetown comes into game off a loss to Providence also on February 4. The game was broadcasted nationally on FOX Sports & ESPN Radio.
Georgetown won the tip to start the game, Both teams with great defense to start the game , Georgetown scores 1st on basket by Joshua Smith for 2 points, Villanova would answer back to tie the game at 2 with slam dunk by JayVaughn Pinkston. Villanova Darrun Hilliard fouled from 3 PT range, makes it went to line for a 4 Pt play and makes it for Villanova 1st lead of game at 6-5 at 15:30 left in 1st half. both teams with some good shot attempts. Villanova has the 3 pointer going for them so far by making 7 of them in the 1st half. Villanova would take a 37-23 lead at Halftime.
Georgetown got ball to start 2nd half and both teams got some good shots to start the half. the referees were letting a lot of things go in this game as it was old school Big East game. There was a double technical foul on both Villanova & Georgetown. Georgetown did not have an answers to Villanova, This has been a 2 different games as Georgetown took part Villanova back on January 19 and Villanova has return to beating. Villanova would cruise to a big win over Georgetown in front of a sold out crowd of 20,587. Villanova improves to 21-2 8-2 in Big East while Georgetown falls to 15-8 7-5 in Big East.
