Vermont Beats Penn State in 2nd Annual College Hockey Faceoff

(Philadelphia PA) on Saturday October 26 from Wells Fargo Center in South Philadelphia, College Hockey took Center as Penn State Nittany Lions took on Vermont Catamounts in 2nd Annual College Hockey faceoff. Penn State came into game off a Tie to RIT on October 25, Vermont came into game off a Tie to North Dakota on October 12. The game was broadcasted on Comcast Network with Brian Smith & former Flyers Goalie Brian Boucher.
Penn State won the opening faceoff to start the game & committed a Penalty 6 seconds into game by Connor Varley but Vermont could not take advantage . Penn State opened the scoring when Taylor Holstrom scored at 11:56 of 1st Period for a early 1-0 lead. while Vermont was on the power play they turned the puck over & Penn State took advantage and scored a short handed goal by Capitan Tommy Olczyk for a 2-0 lead. Penn State David Glen would commit game misconduct penalty for late hit on Vermont Mario Puskarich. Vermont would cut the Penn State lead to 2-1 on goal by Jake Fallon. Penn State took a 2-1 lead at end of 1st period. Vermont would take control of the game in particular the 2nd period only allowing Penn State 1 shot on goal & goals by Nick Luukko, Matt White, then added it on in the 3rd period with goals by Brendon Bradley & Rob Hamilton. Vermont beats Penn State 5-2 in front of 17,632.
Penn State goalie Eamon McAdam made 24 saves on 29 shots, Vermont goalie Mike Santaguida made 31 saves on 33 shots
