The Streak Continues to 14 years as Navy Defeats Army

Philadelphia PA: When you think of rivalries in pro and college sports that people keep talking, there is one game that always come up and that is the Army Navy Game as the Army Black Knights took on the Navy Midshipmen in the 116th Army Navy Game from Lincoln Financial Field in South Philadelphia. The game returns to Philadelphia for the first time since 2013 & this was the 86th time that Philadelphia has hosted the Army Navy game. Army enters the game with a record of 2-9 and off a loss to Rutgers on November 21 while Navy comes into game ranked number 22 int he nation with a record of 9-2 & off a loss to loss to Houston on November 27. Navy has won the last 13 games and Army is looking to win this game for the first time since 2001 when they played ta Veterans Stadium. Earlier in the day, ESPN College Gameday was live from Xfinity Live for the Game, Eagles Coach Chip Kelly & United States Secretary of Defense Ashton Carter was in attendance for the game.
Army won the toss & they deferred to 2nd half, Navy would start the game with ball. The games first points would come on Army’s first drive of the game where they drive down and kicked a 32 yard field goal for the early 3-0 lead. Navy would get on the board when QB Keenan Reynolds s runs it in from 58 yards for the 7-3 lead. The Black Knights would answer the touchdown drive by the Midshipmen when RB Tyler Campbell scores on 29 yard run to make it 10-7 lead for Army as the first quarter comes to end. Navy would score from 1 yard out on QB sneak by Keenan Reynolds for the 14-10 lead early in second quarter. Late in the 2nd quarter, the Black Knights would retake the lead when QB Chris Carter finds WR Edgar Poe from 39 yards out for the 17-14 lead and Army would take a 17-14 lead into halftime.
Army got ball to start the 2nd half and had all the momentum from the first half when they scored that late touchdown for the 17-14 lead. Defense took over the entire 3rd quarter and the only scoring of the quarter when Navy QB Keenan Reynolds finds WR Jamir Tillman from 50 yards out to give Navy a 21-17 lead through 3 quarters. Army would drive down in the 4th quarter and that is when some very questionable plays calls came in, Army would miss a 29 yard field goal, followed by 3 straight turnovers (Fumble, INT,INT) and it would hurt them the most in the end as Navy would hold on for a 21-17 win in front of a sellout crowd of 69,722 as Navy extends the winning streak to 14 year in row.
