Temple University Extends Head Football Coach Matt Rhule Contract

Philadelphia PA: The rest of the NCAA football teams continues on with their offseason programs to get them ready for the start of the 2015 season, On Thursday, Temple University announced that they have extended the contract of their football coach Matt Rhule for 4 years that would keep him on North Broad Street until 2021 season.
Temple Director of Athletics Dr. Patrick Kraft “Matt Rhule is one of the best young coaches in college football and we are excited that he will be at the helm of Temple Football through at least 2021, Matt has the program heading in the right direction, especially as we enter a very promising season on the gridiron, and we are confident that he is the right person to take the program to even greater heights.”
Last season, Rhule lead Temple to a bowl eligible 6-6 record which saw defeat Vanderbilt to start the season which gave Temple their first win against a SEC team for the first time in over 75 years, also saw Temple defeat #21/19 ranked East Carolina at Lincoln Financial Field giving Temple their third win over a ranked team & first one since 1998.

Temple will open the 2015 season on Saturday September 5 at Lincoln Financial Field in the national spotlight as they take on Penn State at 3:30 PM on ESPN.
