Temple takes down Memphis 31-12

Philadelphia PA: With the questions about the Philadelphia Eagles, there is one bright spot in Philadelphia involving the football team and that is the Temple Owls as they hosted Memphis on Saturday at Lincoln Financial Field in a Huge game in the American Athletic Conference and also in the east division as well. Temple enters the game with a record of 8-2 (5-1 in American) and off a loss to South Florida on November 14 while Memphis comes into game against Temple ranked 21st in the nation with a record of 8-2 (4-2 in American) and off a loss to Houston also on November 14.
Memphis won the toss & deferred to 2nd half, Temple got ball to start the game, On Temple opening drive of the game, they would fumble it and Memphis recovered it, Memphis would go 3 and out on their first drive as they could not take advantage of the turnover. Temple next drive would result in another turnover as PJ Walker would have his pass picked off at the one yard line, The Tigers would makes Temple Pay as they would drive down on a 15 play drive and connect on a 31 yard field goal for the early 3-0 lead. Memphis would lead 3-0 at the end of 1st QTR. Memphis would stop the owls on 4th & 1 to start the 2nd quarter. Memphis would take advantage as they would hit a 46 yard field goal for a 6-0 lead. The next drive for Temple would not result in a turnover as they would drive down 75 yards to score the touchdown by Romond DeLoatch from 13 yards to give the Owls a 7-6 lead. Temple would add to their lead on a 14 yard run by David Hood for a 14-6 lead. The Tigers would answer the Temple scoring drive with a 44 yard field to cut the owls lead to 14-9. Temple would lead 14-9 at halftime.
Memphis starts 2nd half with the ball and they would go 3 and out, Temple would also go 3 and out to start the 2nd half and Temple would have their punt blocked. Memphis would drive down and attempt a 36 yard field that would hit the right upright and NO good. The Tigers next drive would see them drive down and convert a 39 yard field goal to cut the owls lead to 14-12. Temple would open things up in the 4th quarter starting with a 13 yard touchdown run to Kip Patton to make it 21-12, then they would add a 35 yard field goal for a 24-12 lead. Temple would ice the game on a 19 yard touchdown pass to Saledeem Major to make it 31-12 and the owls would win this game over 21st ranked Memphis 31-12 infront of a crowd of 31,708 & also to have everything on the line next week as Temple has an opportunity to reach the 1st ever American Athletic Conference Championship Game if they defeat Uconn. There were NFL Scouts from the Eagles, Dolphins, Giants, Ravens, Chargers, Bears in attendance. This is the first time this season that Memphis was held without scoring a
