Temple Owls Fly to Victory over South Florida Bulls

Philadelphia PA: There was a big East Division game in the American Athletic Conference that took place at Lincoln Financial Field in South Philadelphia on Friday night as the Temple Owls took on South Florida Bulls. Temple entered this contest with record of (4-3, 2-1 in AAC) and off a walk off touchdown win over Central Florida while South Florida comes into game with a record of (6-1, 3-0 in AAC) and off a win over Uconn.

South Florida win toss & defers to 2nd half, Temple started the game with the ball and they would drive down and kick 22 yard field goal by Aaron Boumerhi for early 3-0 lead, South Florida would take their opening drive of game and score touchdown by WR Marq Scantling from 27 yards out for 7-3 lead. The scoring would pick up in the 2nd quarter as Temple would retake the lead as QB Phillip Walker finds TE Colin Thompson from 1 yard out for 10-7 lead. The Bulls would answer the Owls touchdown as Quint Flowers would find WR Tyre Mccants for 31 yards, the extra point was blocked by Praise Martin Oguike and South Florida would lead 13-10. Owls would come right back as RB Ryquell Armstead breaks a big run of 76 yards for touchdown and 17-13 lead, Owls would add FG by Aaron Boumerhi from 35 yards for 20-13 lead at Halftime.

The Bulls got ball to start the 2nd half and make things interesting as Emili Nadelman kicks 42 yard FG & then QB Quint Flowers scores 3 yard TD run as South Florida took a 23-20 lead, the Owls would wake up and take control of the game as Armstead would score his 2nd touchdown of game, this one from 42 yards for 27-23 lead. The Owls would make things more difficult for the Bulls as they block their punt & RB Jahad Thomas scores from 9 yards to make it 34-23. The Owls would finish off the Bulls with 42 yard field goal by Boumerhi, Jahad Thomas 3 yard TD, a Safety. South Florida got touchdown from RB Marlon Mack from 30 yards.. A Crowd of 25,950 saw the Temple Owls take down South Florida to win a big game in the east division with a 46-30 win, with the win, the Owls go to (5-3, 3-1) while South Florida falls to (6-2, 3-1).

The Story in this game was the running game by the Owls as they rushed for 319 yards.
