Temple Football Player, Kamal Johnson Arrested

Temple defensive tackle Kamal Johnson was arraigned Saturday on charges stemming from an alleged assault Sept. 27 on his girlfriend, also a student at the university.
According to police, Johnson pushed his way into the woman’s off-campus apartment. Johnson then knocked on her door and when the woman answered, he forced his way inside. Johnson allegedly pulled the woman out of her apartment, demanded to see her phone, and pushed her down two flights of stairs to his apartment.
According to the victim, Johnson also threw the girlfriend onto a chair, choked her, punched her in the head and thigh; left a marks on her neck and arms from him dragging her.
She told police he let her leave about 3:50 a.m. Sept. 28. She had scratches and bruises and a contusion on her head, which she said caused her to be dizzy and her vision to blur, police said.
The woman plans to hire an attorney but says she fears for her life.
