St Bonaventure ends Saint Joseph’s 7 Game Winning Streak

Philadelphia PA: An Atlantic 10 encounter took place at Hagan Arena on the Campus of Saint Joseph’s University on Wednesday night as the Saint Joseph’s Hawks hosted the St Bonaventure Bonnies. The Hawks come into game with a 7 game wining streak and with record of (18-3, 7-1 in Atlantic 10) and off a win over Rhode Island on January 30 while the Bonnies enter game against the hawks with record of (13-6, 5-3 in Atlantic 10) and off a win over Richmond on January 31.
The Hawks won the tip to start the game and the games first points would come Saint Joseph’s Aaron Brown from 3 pointer for the early 3-0 lead, St Bonaventure got on the board with basket by Jordan Tyson. , Bonnies would take their first lead of game on 3 pointer by Marcus Posley for 8-7 lead. The Hawks would rally back and retake a 21-19 lead on 3 pointer by Papa Ndao with 10:38 left. there would be four ties before the Bonnies retake the lead on 3 pointer by Nelson Kaputo for 35-32 lead at 4:44 left, Bonnies would take a 42-35 lead into halftime, The Hawks did not have any answers for them in the first half.
St Bonaventure got ball to start the 2nd half and the Saint Joseph’s would go cut into the lead and they would get it down to 2 after basket & foul by Isaiah Miles at 53-51 with 14:30 left in the game. Bonnies would not let the Hawks get any closer as they would regrow the lead to 8, Hawks went on another run to cut lead down to 3 at 59-56 with 10:19 left. Saint Joseph’s had no answer for the Bonnies as the lead would grow up as 18 at 78-60 with 3:57 left as St Bonaventure would ride to a 83-73 win and ends Saint Joseph’s 7 game winning streak. The Story of this game was the 3pt shooting by the Bonnies as they went 13-34 shooting 38.2%. The Hawks look to rebound from this game as they take on Fordham on Feb 6 and Bonnies will try to add on to the win as they take on Saint Louis on Super Bowl Sunday.
