A jury convicted former Pennsylvania State University assistant football coach Jerry Sandusky on 45 counts related to child sex abuse. Sandusky faces a maximum sentence of 442 years in prison and barring an appeal will spend the rest of his life in prison. Family members of victims in attendance wept and hugged one another after the verdict was read.
Judge John Cleland revoked bail for Mr. Sandusky and remanded him to county probation officials. The judge said sentencing would occur in roughly 90 days. Seconds after Judge Cleland adjourned the court and spectators left, a cheer went up outside the courthouse.
