Saint Joseph’s Knocks out Dayton

Philadelphia PA: On Tuesday February 25 from Hagan Arena on the campus of Saint joseph’s University as the Saint joseph’s Hawks took on the Dayton Flyers in a huge game in the Atlantic 10 and a possible elimination from the NCAA tournament bubble. Saint Joseph’s comes into game with record of 19-7 (9-3 in Atlantic 10) and off a win over Fordham on Feb 22, Dayton comes in with record of 19-8 (7-5 in Atlantic 10) coming off a win over Duquesne also on February 22. The Game was broadcasted Nationally on CBS Sports Network with Jason Knapp & Alaa Abdelnaby calling the action & locally on CBS Sports Radio 610 with Matt Martucci and Joe Lunardi.
Saint Joseph’s won the opening tip to start the game and the hawks came out firing away and the games first points came from a dunk from Ronald Roberts, hawks would score the games first 8 points until Dayton finally get on the board by making 1/2 foul shots from Devon Scott. The Hawks took over the entire 1st half, Dayton had no idea what hit them as the hawks would increase their lead up to 19 points and the hawks took a 39-20 lead into halftime.
Dayton would try to get back into the game in the 2nd half and they could not as the hawks continued from the 1st half. Ronald Roberts would have 2 Monster Dunks that he would have and both time got fouled in the act of dunking. Hawks DeAndre Bembry would hit a big 3 pointer as the shot clock expired. Chris Wilson went lights out by going 8-8 in FG attempts. The Hawks cruse to a 79-53 win and take the season series from Dayton. after the game, one of Ronald Roberts dunks made Sportscenter top 10 plays as the number 2 play
