Saint Joseph’s defeats Marist in Home Opener

(Philadelphia PA) on Wednesday November 13 from Hagan Arena on the Campus of Saint Joseph’s University, it was the home opener for the Saint Joseph’s Hawks took on Marist Red Foxes. The Last time the Hawks played at Hagan Arena in march, they lost to St John’s at the buzzer in the 1st round of NIT. Marist comes onto game 0-2 as they lost to Elon 75-48 on November 10 & Saint Joes comes into game 1-0 after they beat Vermont 74-64 on November 9. The game was broadcast on CBS Sports Radio 610 AM (WIP) with Matt Martucci and Joe Lunardi calling the action
Marist wins the opening tip to start the game, the game first points came from saint joseph’s DeAndre Bembry which was a three pointer, the hawks would go on a 12-0 run to start until Marist finally gets on the board when Adam Kemp for two point layup. The Hawks had everything going for them in the first half as the Hawks would take a 40-25 lead into halftime.

Marist got the ball to start the second half & the hawks continued to put the pressure on as Langston Galloway came out firing as he it 2 three pointers to start the 2nd half and the defense took over the rest of the way as the hawks roll to a 81-62 win in front of 3,871 at Hagan Arena. With the win the hawks go to 2-0 on the season & Marist falls to 0-3. The Hawks get ready for a encounter with Creighton on Saturday at Hagan Arena.
