Rider Knocks out Penn 73-57 at Palestra

Philadelphia PA: On Tuesday November 18 from Cathedral of College Basketball The Palestra on the Campus of University of Pennsylvania, The Penn Quakers hosted the Rider Broncos. Penn comes into game against Rider with a 0-1 record following a a Overtime loss to Delaware State on Saturday while Rider also comes into game with a 0-1 record following a loss to Princeton on Friday November 14.
Rider won the tip to start the game. The games first points came from Penn’s Darien Nelson Henry for 2 points. few minutes latter Rider gets on the board from basket by Jimmie Taylor for 2 points, Penn Darien Nelson Henry would get into foul trouble early in the game and Penn would have 4 freshman on the floor. Penn would rally back to take their 1st lead when Sam Jones hits 3 point for 18-16 lead with 8:54 left, Rider would take control of the 1st half by shooting 7-10 from three point range. Penn had some good shot attempts and they would not fall. Penn did not make any foul shot attempts in the 1st half. Rider took a 40-26 lead into halftime.
Rider got ball to start and they would pick up where they left off in the 1st half. Penn would try to get back into the game and most of their shots were not falling. Penn would get to the line in the 2nd half by going 6-12 from the line. Rider would increase their lead to as much as 24 points with 6:26 left in the game. Rider had no issues in this game as the would defeat Penn 73-57. Penn falls to 0-2 on the season, they look for their 1st win of the season as the host Lafayette on November 22, Rider goes 1-1 on the season and they take on Lehigh on November 21.
