Richmond takes down Lehigh Valley 35-28

Allentown PA: Arena Football took center stage on Friday night in the Professional Indoor Football League (PIFL) at PPL Center in Allentown PA as the Lehigh Valley Steelhawks with record of 6-3 hosted Richmond Raiders who had record of 5-3

The Steelhawks won the toss and deferred tot he 2nd half and Richmond would their the opening drive of the game for the games first touchdown lead by Ron Davis from 40 yards out for the 7-0 lead. The Steelhawks would answer back with a touchdown of their own by Darryl Thompson. A lot of crazy scoring in the 1st quarter, Richmond would retake the lead on touchdown by Robert Holland, Steelhawks would score the games next 9 points, a touchdown, a Safety by Larry Ford, & a PAT Rouge for a 15-13 lead at the end of 1st quarter. Richmond would take full control of the game from the 2nd quarter on as the score 11 points for a 24-15 lead at Halftime.

The Steelhawks would shake things up by changing their quarterback from Shane McSweeny to Zach Zulli and it would wake the team up. Darryl Thompson would make an amazing catch by diving into the crowd and still had control of the ball & Steelhawks would take advantage as Mack Ogletree would score touchdown to cut the Richmond lead to 27-21. The Steelhawks would tie game on 12 yard touchdown run by Paul Melicharek.  Richmond would answer back and take what would be the game winning score as Ron Davis catches touchdown with 3:35 left. Steelhawks would have 1 final drive and it would come up short as Richmond would defeat the Steelhawks 35-28.  In other words, bad start to the game on offense by the Steelhawks and some costly dropped passes.
