Red Wings-Bruins Preview (The Associated Press)
- Updated: March 8, 2015
The Boston Bruins can temporarily enjoy some breathing room in the tight Eastern Conference playoff race, but that comfort could just as quickly depart with a poor effort to close out the weekend. The Bruins complete their four-game homestand Sunday against the Detroit Red Wings, who look to avoid their first back-to-back regulation losses this season. Brad Marchand played the hero for Boston (32-22-10) on Saturday with two dramatic goals against Philadelphia, scoring the game-tying goal with 15 seconds remaining in regulation and again in overtime for a 3-2 victory. Boston holds the final playoff spot in the Eastern Conference and opened a five-point edge over the 11th-place Flyers.
