Phillies Can Still Make the Playoffs! What?
- Updated: September 10, 2012
The Phillies still face significant challenges as they try to make the playoffs this season. This weekend’s series sweep of the Colorado Rockies could be the momentum the Phightin’s need to make a September run. So, Can the Phillies Make the Playoffs?
The Phillies are 69-71, and have only twenty-two games left to play, with six games behind the St. Louis Cardinals in race for the second National League Wild Card spot.
Looking for an offensive spark, the Phillies re-activated catcher, Carlos Ruiz. “Chooch” is continuing one of the more remarkable regular seasons that any Phillies’ player has had in recent memory. He entered the second game of a day-night doubleheader and promptly got two hits and added an RBI.
Although it may seem impossible the way this team has struggled, it is possible. Like the great Harry the K always said “YOU GOTTA BELIEVE!”
