Philadelphia Soul Headed to ARENABOWL 25 in New Orleans

On Friday night August 3, 2012 from the Wells Fargo Center, the Philadelphia Soul hosted the Arena football conference championship game against the 2011 ArenaBowl champions Jacksonville Sharks, the Soul were the number 1 seed in the American Conference; the Jacksonville Sharks were the number 2 seed in the American Conference. The Game was broadcasted nationally on NFL Network. The Soul won the Coin Toss, but they deferred to the 2nd Half, the Sharks took the opening drive of the game & scored a TD when Sharks QB Bernard Morris to Jeron Harvey for 9-yard touchdown pass, the Soul responded back with a Larry Brackins 10-yard touchdown, and the soul took off from there, The Final score was Philadelphia Soul 89, Jacksonville Sharks 34. The Soul will play the Winner of the NFC Title Game between Utah-Arizona in Avitae ArenaBowl XXV on Friday, August 10 from New Orleans. There was 12, 332 at Wells Fargo Center who witness the Soul victory over Jacksonville. Soul WR Larry Brackins recorded a franchise-record total of eight touchdowns. He had seven receptions for 72 yards and five touchdowns, three carries for seven yards and two touchdowns and three kick returns for 17 yards and a touchdown. Starting QB Dan Raudabaugh went 15-of-21 passes for 196 yards, three touchdowns and zero interceptions, Fullback Derrick Ross had five carries for 23 yards and two touchdowns & one reception for 11 yards. On Defense, the Soul went off on Sharks QB Bernard Morris, Soul LaRico Stevenson recorded 7.0 tackles, a forced fumble, a fumble recovery and an interception return for a touchdown, also Soul Rayshaun Kizer added 6.5 tackles and two interceptions. After the game was over, Soul head coach Doug Plank said the following: “The guys knew what was on the line tonight, and they played like it, I know we’re all excited for New Orleans.
