Philadelphia Soul defeat Orlando in Must Win Game

Philadelphia PA: On Monday July 7 from the Wells Fargo Center in South Philadelphia, a very big arena football game took place as the Philadelphia Soul took on the Orlando Predators in a must win for the Philadelphia Soul for them to keep their playoff chances alive. The Soul come into game with a record of 7-8 and off a win over Iowa on June 28, while Orlando with a record of 8-6 and enter the game off a loss to in state rival Tampa Bay. before the game, there was a flag football game featuring the Wounded Warriors Amputee Football Team took on select NFL Alumni/Media and the Wounded Warriors Amputee Football Team would win the game 63-35.
Orlando won the toss and deferred to 2nd half, the Soul would take advantage right away as Lari Stevenson takes the opening kickoff back for a touchdown. the soul would add another touchdown for a 14-0 lead, Orlando finally gets on the board when Khalli Paden catches a touchdown to cut the lead to 14-7. the Soul would take a 21-7 lead at the end of 1st quarter. Soul WR Markee White would make an amazing 1 handed touchdown grab to make it 28-14, Orlando would make a comeback with 2 straight touchdowns to tie game at 28 at Halftime.
In the 2nd half, both teams would have some opportunities to take the lead but could not as there were many drooped passes, being stopped on 4th down. The only scoring of the 3rd quarter would belong to the Soul as Tiger Jones would score to give the soul a 35-28 lead heading to the 4th quarter. Markee White would catch his 3rd touchdown of the game to give the soul a 42-28 lead in the 4th quarter, Orlando would not go away as they would score a late touchdown to get the lead down to 7 at 42-35 with 1:22 left in 4th quarter. The Soul would run the clock out for a hard fought win to get back to .500 on the season at 8-8 and also take the seasons series from Orlando. The loss by Orlando drops them to 8-7 on the season. The Soul now head into a bye week for the final 2 games of the season for their shot at making the playoffs as the take on San Jose on July 20 while Orlando takes on Iowa on July 14.
