Philadelphia Freedoms fall to Austin Aces

Villanova PA: On Monday July 21 from the Pavilion on the campus of Villanova University, the Philadelphia Freedoms continued their push for the playoffs as they took on Austin Aces which featured Andy Roddick who was playing for Austin. The Freedom defeated Austin last time 25-11 back on July 12.
The first match was Andy Roddick taking on Frank Dancevic. This is the 2nd time that Dancevic would play Roddick this season as Dancevic defeated Roddick back on July 12 by the score of 5-3. This was an very exciting match as both would trade games and fire off some big aces, Roddick would win the 8 game to tie everything at 4 and it went to a tiebreaker where Frank Dancevic could come out on top and take the first set 5-4.
2nd set was Varvara Lepchenko taking on the Freedoms Taylor Townsend. Varvara Lepchenko took full control of this entire set and would win 5-2.
3rd set is Mixed Doubles featuring Freedoms Marcelo Melo & Liezel Huber going against Treat Huey & Eva.Hrdinova, the Aces would take the early lead but Freedom would make a comeback and would come up short as Treat Huey & Eva Hrdinova wins the 3rd set over Marcelo Melo & Liezel Huber 5-3. Austin holds a 14-10 lead.
The fourth set was women’s doubles as Taylor Townsend & Liezel Huber took on Austin’s Eva Hrdinova & Varvara Lepchenko. The Freedoms took full control of this set, both Taylor Townsend & Liezel Huber would make some big shots and got some big points as they won the set 5-2 over defeat Eva Hrdinova & Varvara Lepchenko
The final set was Treat Huey & Andy Roddick taking on Marcelo Melo & Frank Dancevic. this was an very interesting match, but the team of Treat Huey & Andy Roddick took over and won the final set 5-3 and Austin would end the Freedoms five-match win streak by the score of 21-18.
