- Updated: April 25, 2013
Head coach Chip Kelly addressed that with their first pick in Thursday’s 2013 NFL Draft, selecting Oklahoma tackle Lane Johnson. Johnson will likely slide in at right tackle, working across from five-time Pro Bowl left tackle Jason Peters. Johnson was a Texas All-State quarterback as a senior in high school before being converted to tight end, and finally, tackle.
The selection of Johnson made it three offensive linemen in the first four picks of the 2013 NFL Draft. Johnson joined Eric Fisher (No. 1 to Chiefs) and Luke Joeckel (No. 2 to Jaguars).
