Penn Quakers takes down Yale in Primetime

Philadelphia PA: The bright lights of Friday night primetime College Football came to Historic Franklin Field on the campus of University of Pennsylvania for an Ivy League battle as the Penn Quakers took on Yale Bulldogs. Penn Quakers enter the game with a (2-3, 1-1 in Ivy League) and off a blowout win over Columbia while Yale comes to matchup against Penn with a (4-1, 1-1 in Ivy League) and off a win over Maine. History was made as this was the first ever primetime National TV game played in the history of Franklin Field. The game was broadcasted nationally on NBC Sports Network.
Yale won the toss & deferred it to 2nd half, Penn got ball to start the game and they would go 3 and out, it was not the start that Penn was looking for, Yale on their first drive of the game would score the game’s first points as Yale Kicker Bryan Holmes hits 39 yard field goal for the early 3-0 lead. Yale would add to the lead after Penn would do their second 3 and out, Yale would drive down as QB Morgan Roberts finds WR Robert Clemsons lll for a 17 yard touchdown to make it 10-0 Yale. Penn would finally get on the board early in the 2nd quarter as QB Alek Torgersen finds WR Christian Pearson from 62 yards out to cut into the lead at 10-7. About 40 seconds later, Penn would take its first lead of game as Torgersen finds RB Tre Solomon from 17 yards out to make it 13-10 as Kicker would miss the extra point. Yale would answer back on a 26 yard field by Kicker Bryan Holmes to tie the game at 13 late in the 2nd quarter. Penn would drive down to try to get points on the board before the half and Penn was able to as Ryan O’Malley scores from 1 yard out to give Penn a 20-13 lead at halftime.
Yale got ball to start the 2nd half and they would drive it down to Penn 10 yard line and QB Morgan Roberts would get his pass picked off in the end zone by Ian Dobbins for a touchback. Penn would increase their lead later on in the quarter as QB Alek Torgersen finds WR Christian Pearson from 27 yards out to make it 27-13 lead with 5 minutes left in the 3rd quarter. Yale would make the game very interesting as they would score a touchdown with 7 seconds left in the quarter on a 6 yard run from RB Austin Reuland to cut the Penn lead to 27-20. Penn would ice the game as RB Tre Solomon would put a very nasty juke move on Yale defender and score a 28 yard touchdown to make it 34-20. Penn would hold on for the 34-20 win to get back to back wins in the Ivy League. The Penn defense also picked off QB Morgan Roberts 3 times in the game.
QB Alek Torgersen: 25/35 for 350 yards with 4 passing TD, 15 rush attempts for 59 yards
RB Tre Solomon: 18 rush attempts for 121 yards and 1 rush TD, 2 catches for 13 yards and 1 TD
WR Christian Pearson: 6 catches for 133 yards with 2 receiving TD
QB Morgan Roberts: 25/46 for 318 yards with 1 pass TD and 3 INT
RB Austin Reuland: 12 rush attempts for 62 yards and 1 rush TD
WR Robert Clemsons lll: 6 cathes for 99 yards and 1 receiving TD
