Patriots beat Eagles in Chip Kelly NFL coaching Debut

(Philadelphia PA) On Friday August 9 from Lincoln Financial Field in South Philadelphia, the Philadelphia Eagles opened the 2013 NFL Preseason against Tom Brady & New England Patriots. This game marked the NFL Coaching debut of new Eagles Head Coach Chip Kelly. Michael Vick & Nick Foles would split the 1st team reps in the 1st quarter. The game was broadcasted Nationally on NFL Network & locally on 6ABC in Philly with Scott Graham, Brian Baldinger & Dave Spadaro calling the action. also This Season, Eagles  Radio Announcer Merrill Reese becomes The longest tenured play-by-play man in the NFL passing Patriots Gil Santos.

The Eagles won the Toss & Deferred to 2nd Half, Patriots start the game with ball. on the 1st play on offence for Patriots, Running Back -Steven Ridley breaks off a 62 yard run that goes all the way down to Eagles 18 yard line & couple plays latter, Ridley punches it in for touchdown, Patriots up 7-0. The Eagles respond with their 1st drive of game, & score an amazing 1 handed touchdown to DeSean Jackson for 47 yard TD to tie game at 7. Tom Brady comes back & drives pats down field & Brady throws a pass to RB Shane Vereen for 13 yards Touchdown but was ruled incomplete pass, The Replay Official  overturned the call on field to touchdown. Patriots up 14-7.  Ryan Mallet replaces Tom Brady at QB with 3:12 left 1st quarter. Nick Foles comes in at QB with 2:40 left in 1st quarter & Foles throws a pass incomplete, Patriots challenged the illegal forward pass ruling, and the play was reversed & Patriots recover fumble by Brandon Spikes. Patriots lead 14-7 at end of 1st QTR. Patriots kicker Steven Gostkowski missed a 44 yard field goal in 2nd qtr, Eagles tie game at 14 when Bryce Brown scores a 8 yard TD. Matt Barkley Replaces Nick Foles with 5:30 left 2nd qtr. Patriots add another touchdown when LaGarrette Blount scores an amazing  51 yard TD run when he goes from one side of field and scores from the other side to make it 24-14, Ryan Mallet gets injured late in 2nd quarter & Tim Tebow comes in to a mixed reaction from the crowd at Lincoln Financial Field. At the half, Patriots up 24-14.

The Eagles start with ball to begin 2nd half , Patriots RB LaGarrette Blount would score another touchdown to make it 31-14. Matt Barkley throws his 1st NFL Touchdown to begin the 4th quarter to wide receiver Greg Salas & Eagles also converted a two point conversion to make it 31-22. Late in 4th quarter, Eagles 4th String QB G.J. Kinne fires a nice pass to wide receiver Greg Salas for a 35-yards down to Patriots 2 yard line with 2 seconds left & could not get it in, The Patriots Beat Eagles 31-22. The Eagles next Preseason game is August 15 against Carolina Panthers from Lincoln Financial Field at 7:30 PM
