Langston Galloway Burns Dayton Again with 3 Pointer

Brooklyn NY: On Friday March 14 from Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York, the Quarterfinals of the Atlantic 10 men’s basketball tournament took place as the Saint Joseph’s Hawks took on the Dayton Flyers. Saint Joseph’s comes into game as the number 4 seed in the Atlantic 10 tournament with a record of 21-9 (11-5) and coming off a loss to la Salle on march 9, Dayton comes into game with record of 23-9 (10-6) and off a win over Fordham on March 13. Saint Joseph’s took both regular season matchups from Dayton. The game was broadcasted nationally on NBC Sports Network with Mike Corey, Stan Van Gundy, David Kaplan calling the action & locally on CBS Sports radio 610 with Matt Martucci and Joe Lunardi. This game was basically an elimination game to see who gets into the NCAA Tournament.
Saint Joseph’s won the opening tip to start the game and scored the games first points from a 3 pointer from Langston Galloway for the early 3-0 lead, Dayton gets on the board with a 2 point basket from Jordan Sibert. both teams would go on runs and Hawks Langston Galloway had it going in the 1st half as he made a couple 3 pointers including being fouled from 3 point range which he made all 3 foul shots. Dayton would go on a run to cut the lead as the Hawks would take a 35-34 lead into halftime. Langston Galloway leads the Hawks with 20 points in 1st half while Sibert leads Dayton with 7 points in 1st half.
Dayton got ball to begin the 2nd half and score a layup from Matt Kavanaugh, the Hawks would get on the board in the 2nd half from a Ronald Roberts dunk off a nice pass from Halil Kanacevic. the Hawks would get the lead up to 6 points with under 4 minutes, the Dayton went on a run. Matt Kavanaugh, would give Dayton a 67-66 lead with 39 seconds left, the Hawks Langston Galloway hits a 3 pointer with 17 seconds which would turn out to be the game winner as the Saint Joseph’s Hawks would hold on for a 70-67 win and advanced to the Semifinals against the St. Bonaventure who upset the top seed Saint Louis in the 1st quarterfinal game of the day. The Hawks completed a three-game sweep of the Flyers as the hawks reach close to receive, at-large NCAA tournament bid.
