Kimble Injured in Saint Joseph’s Loss to UMass

Philadelphia PA: The push for March Madness continues on as we are only 5 weeks out and on Saturday afternoon, the Saint Joseph’s Hawks took on Umass Minutemen in Atlantic 10 battle from Hagan Arena on the campus of Saint Joseph’s University. Saint Joseph’s enters game with (10-13,3-8 in A10) and off a loss to Dayton on February 7 while UMass comes into battle against the Hawks with (12-12,2-9 in A10) and off a loss to Rhode Island also on February 7.
UMass won the tip to start the game and they would score right away on basket by Rashann Holloway for 2-0 lead, Hawks would answer back on 3 pointer by Charlie Brown for 3-2 lead. The Hawks would have their chances to get into the lead but UMass would burn the Hawks with their 3 point shooting as they would make 8 of 15 attempts, UMass would get the lead as high as 11 in the 1st half at 36-25 with 2:54 left in the 1st half, the Hawks would slowly chip into the lead as they got it down to 8 as UMass took a 43-35 lead into halftime.
Saint Joseph’s got ball to start the 2nd half and they would make things interesting. Umass would grow the lead back to 10 at 55-45 with 13:11 left, then the Hawks would go on a run which saw them tie the game at 55 with 10:24 left and everyone inside Hagan Arena though the Hawks would make UMass pay but it would not happen after the hawks tied game at 55, Umass would put up 7 straight points and the up hill battle continued. Hawks guard Lamarr Kimble would hurt his foot and he would leave the game with 4:27 left. UMass would just make some dagger shots that would hurt the Hawks as the Minutemen take down the Hawks by the score of 87-76. After the game, Saint Joseph’s Coach Phil Martelli would say that Lamarr Kimble was getting a X Ray on left foot, dont know how bad it is. With the win, UMass now goes to (13-12, 3-9 in A10) and now head to encounter against Duquesne on February 15 and with the loss, the Hawks fall to (10-14, 3-9 in A10) and have to rebound against VCU on February 14 .
Team spokesperson for Saint Joseph’s said wont have update on Lamarr Kimble Injury until Sunday.
