Jrue Holiday Hits for Career High in Suns Victory

Jrue Holiday’s line from the 76ers’ 104-101 win over the Phoenix Suns at the Wells Fargo Center was full of all those things a coach, teammates, and fans want to see.
Holiday clicked off a career-high 33 points Sunday on 13-for-21 shooting, taking advantage of overmatched Suns defenders Goran Dragic and Sebastian Telfair. The Sixers, playing their second game in as many days, were the recipients of 26 Holiday assists over the weekend – 13 on Saturday against Oklahoma City and 13 more on Sunday.
But in the victory over the Suns, more than just Holiday’s point-guard play stood out.
The Sixers coughed up a 10-point advantage to pesky Phoenix, leading to an 81-80 Suns advantage early in the fourth quarter. But Holiday punctuated a Sixers run with a rebound of Jason Richardson’s missed three-pointer that he converted into a three-point play for a 98-91 lead with 3 minutes, 47 seconds left.
