Josh Hart Sends Wildcats to Big East Title Game

New York NY: The four best teams in the Big East Conference would do battle on Friday night in the semifinals at Madison Square Garden as the number 1 seed Villanova Wildcats took on Seton Hall Pirates in a rematch from the Championship game last year which Seton Hall won. Villanova came into game with a blowout win over St John’s while Seton Hall comes into battle against the Wildcats with a win over Marquette.

Seton Hall won the tip to start the game and they would score the games first 5 points and Jalen Brunson would get Villanova won the board with basket.  hit 3 pointer, Donte DiVincenzo & Josh Hart would get on a roll to get the wildcats back within 2 at16-14 with 7:54 left but Seton Hall would have an answer for the run that the Wildcats would go on. The Pirates would continue to make things hard for the Wildcats as Seton Hall would lead 27-20 at Halftime.

Villanova got ball to start the 2nd half and Mikal Bridges hits 3 pointer that got the Wildcats back into the game as the Pirates would keep the pressure on them. Villanova would take their 1st lead of game on dunk by Josh Hart which made it 41-40 with 9:20 left. Both teams would make some big shots and play good defense and Seton Hall would retake the lead on 2 foul shots by Khadeen Carrington which made it 53-52 with 1:43 left. The Wildcats would play good defense as Seton Hall Angel Delgado would make a costly travel call with 57 seconds left. Villanova would retake the lead as Josh Hart would put in the Missed 3 pointer by Kris Jenkins for a 55-53 lead with 9 seconds left and Seton Hall would come down and attempt to tie the game but would not roll in as Villanova grinds out a 54-53 win to advance to the Big East Title game for the 3rd year in row and would play the winner of Xavier vs Creighton.
