Jenkins & DiVincenzo KO Red Storm in Big East Quarters

New York NY: The best time of the year for college basketball has arrived called “March Madness” and that is what we had on Thursday Afternoon as Villanova Wildcats took on St John’s Red Storm from Madison Square Garden in Big East Quarterfinals. Villanova enters game as number 1 seed and off a win over Georgetown on March 4 while St John’s enters game as 8th seed and off a crazy win over Georgetown in Round 1 on March 8.
Villanova won the tip to start the game and score right away with 3 pointer by Kris Jenkins, St John’s got on board with basket by Shamorie Ponds. The Wildcats would just jump all over St John’s and the Red Storm just did not have answer for them. Villanova Kris Jenkins would bang in 3 pointer to end the 1st half as Villanova would take a 52-26 lead.
St John’s got ball to start the 2nd half and they would try to get back into this game but the Wildcats would take it to the Red Storm as the Wildcats would cruise to a 108-67 win to move on the semifinals against Seton Hall which is a Rematch from last year Championship game that was won by Seton Hall. The 41 point win by Villanova ties the largest margin of victory in Big East Tournament since 1999 when Syracuse blowout Boston College. With the loss, St john’s ends their season with 14-19.
