Jakub Voracek wins best Czech player, gets attacked by giant rabbit mascots (Video) (Puck Daddy)

Jaromir Jagr missed out on his 11th Golden Stick Award on Saturday, which is handed out to the best Czech hockey player in the world. Instead, it was an old teammate of his who took home the trophy for the first time in his career.  Jakub Voracek led the Philadelphia Flyers and all NHL Czech players in scoring with 81 points and was in the mix for the Art Ross Trophy for most of the season. He also captained his country to a fourth-place finish at last months IIHF World Championships.   When Voracek was presented the trophy on stage at the Grandhotel Pupp, he was greeted by a couple of visitors: Bob and Bobek, the mascots from the Worlds, which were held in Prague. The pair of rabbits were very happy for him. I haven’t seen a pair of rabbits that excited since mating season.  In winning the award, Voracek beat out Jagr , Ondrej Palat, Jiri Hudler and Tomas Plekanec, among others. – – – – – – – Sean Leahy is the associate editor for Puck Daddy on Yahoo Sports.
