Islanders-Flyers Preview (The Associated Press)
- Updated: April 6, 2015
John Tavares and the New York Islanders are one point away from reaching the playoffs, though there is far more on the line down the stretch. The Islanders are in control of gaining home-ice advantage in the first round of the postseason and can take a step towards that goal Tuesday night when they visit the Philadelphia Flyers. New York (46-27-6) will clinch at least a wild-card spot with one point since that would give the club 99. Ottawa is ninth in the Eastern Conference and could reach 99 points, but has fewer regulation victories.
