Ilsinho 2 Goals help Union Shutout DC United

Chester PA: As Everyone comes back from the 4th of July holiday, the rivalry between Philadelphia & Washington DC picked up as the Philadelphia Union took on DC United on Saturday night from Talen Energy Stadium in Chester PA. The Union come into game off a loss to Houston on July 2 while DC United enters match off a Tie against Real Salt Lake on July 1. Before the game it was announced that Union players Andre Blake & Keegan Rosenberry were named to All Star Game.
DC United started the game with the ball and early on both teams would have some scoring chances. In the 19th minute, Union Chris Pontius draws a foul in the penalty area which leads to a penalty kick and Roland Alberg would take the penalty kick and score for the 1-0 lead. Union would add to the lead in the 37th minute as DC United would commit another foul in the penalty area resulting in the 2nd penalty kick for the Union and it would be taken by Ilsinho and he would score his 1st career goal for a 2-0 lead into halftime. The Story of the first half was the 2 Goals by the Union on Penalty Kicks.
Union started the 2nd half with the ball and they would continue to take it to DC United as Ilsinho would score his 2nd goal of the game off a rebound for a 3-0 lead. The Union would play very good defense. A crowd of 18,463 saw the Union hold on for a 3-0 win to go 2-0 in the season series against DC United, next time they play them will be August 6 in Washington DC. With the win, the Union pick up 3 big points and also maintain their home field advantage.
The next game the Union will be playing is on Wednesday July 13 as they host Crystal Palace in an international friendly.
