Hunter Pence Traded to Giants

A source from the Giants was unable to confirm that a deal for Pence was done.
The Giants reportedly would send catching prospect Tommy Joseph to Philly in the deal. Outfielder Nate Schierholtz and Class-A Seth Rosin.
Pence, 29, hit .324 in the final 54 games for the Phillies in 2011 after coming over in a Trade Deadline deal. He has hit .271 with 17 homers and 59 RBIs for last-place Philadelphia this season.
Joseph, the Giants’ second-round pick (55th overall) in the 2009 Draft and their No. 5 prospect on MLB.com’s rankings, has hit .260 with eight homers and 38 RBIs in 80 games for Double-A Richmond this year. Joseph was the starting catcher for the U.S. team in this year’s Futures Game in Kansas City, hitting a double, scoring a run, driving in a run and working out a walk.
