George Mason out Plays Hawks in A10 Battle

Philadelphia PA: There are times during the season where you have those type of games that you can build off or just crush whatever momentum you had and that is what took place on Tuesday night from Hagan Arena on the Campus Saint Joseph’s University as the Saint Joseph’s Hawks took on George Mason Patriots in Atlantic 10 Conference play. The Hawks come into game with (8-6, 2-1 in A10) and off a win over Fordham on January 7 while the Patriots enter encounter against the Hawks with (11-5, 1-2 in A10) and off a loss to ST Bonaventure also on January 7.
Saint Joseph’s won the tip to start the game and then they turned it over and George Mason would open the scoring on basket by Marquise Moore for early 2-0 lead, the hawks would get on the board with basket by James Demery. The Patriots would jump out to 7 point lead then the Hawks would go on a run which saw then take their 1st lead of game at 14-13 with 11:43 left. Both teams would exchange baskets and make some good plays as the Hawks would take a 32-31 lead into halftime.
George Mason got ball to start the 2nd half and they would just take it to the hawks and just make things very hard and difficult for them. Every time the Hawks would get close to take the lead but George Mason would have answer. After grinding the entire 2nd half and keep the game close, the Hawks would take lead on baskets by James Demery & Brendan Casper for a 63-62 with 2:05 left. The Patriots would answer the run and make some big shots by Marquise Moore and Otis Livingston as the Patriots would come to Hawk Hill and take this game by the score of 75-67, this loss will hurt for the Hawks as they had multiple chances to take the game. With the win, the Patriots go to (12-5, 2-2 in A10) and now prepare for game against Saint Louis on January 14 and the Hawks now have a (8-7, 2-2 in A10) record and look to rebound from this loss they take take on Richmond also on January 14.
