Gennady Golovkin And Bryant Jennings Victorious at MSG

New York NY: On Saturday July 26 the entire Boxing world came to Madison Square Garden  for an exciting night of fights headlined by Gennady Golovkin vs. Daniel Geale for Golovkin’s WBA middleweight title. There was a an interesting Co Main Event as 2 undefeated heavyweight went at it as Bryant Jennings from North Philadelphia  took on Mike Perez in a Elimination fight to see who will be number 1 contender for a shot at WBC Heavyweight Championship . The fights were broadcasted on HBO Sports with Jim Lampley & Max Kellerman. 

The Co Main Event was a WBC heavyweight eliminator between 2 undefeated fighters and one of them was from Philadelphia PA as Bryant Jennings took on Mike Perez. Jennings came into fight with record of 18-0 and off a win over Artur Szpilka0 and off a win over Carlos Takam back in Janaury 2014. Perez took early control of the fight & he would have some swelling over his left eye after round 5. Jennings came back with a monster round with some big shots that connected including a couple big right hands in round 8. Mike Perez would make a huge mistake in the 12 round as he threw a punch as the referee said to break and the referee would take a point from Perez. The fight would go the distance and the judges ruled it s Split Decision: 114-113 for Perez, 115-112 for Jennings, 114-113 to Jennings, Jennings is now the Number 1 contender for WBC heavyweight title.

The Main Event was Gennady Golovkin vs. Daniel Geale for Golovkin’s WBA middleweight title. This was Gennady Golovkin first fight inside the big Madison Square Garden, Golovkin  defeated Osumanu Adama back in February while Geale defeated Garth Wood back in February.  Golovkin would drop Geale in Round 2, then the fight would end in the 3rd round when Gennady Golovkin throws a counter left hand after Geale connected with big right hand and Geale would get knocked down for the 2nd time in the fight and the Referee stopped it. Gennady Golovkin would win the fight by TKO in round 3
