Flyers Ray Emery injured with a lower-body injury

Philadelphia PA: The Philadelphia Flyers are coming off a amazing weekend which saw them gain 4 big points in the standing to catch the Boston Bruins in the wildcard standings. At practice on Monday at Flyers Skate Zone in Voorhees NJ, Flyers back up goalie Ray Emery sustained a lower-body injury and he likely be out the for the next couple of days according to Flyers general manager Ron Hextall. Emery didn’t even travel with the team on this road trip.
So, Rob Zepp the 33, rookie goalie will make his third consecutive start for the Flyers this Tuesday as they take on the Hurricanes, Anthony Stolarz has been called up from the Flyers American Hockey League Affiliates the Lehigh Valley Phantoms to be his back up on this road trip.
Steve Mason who has been recovering from arthroscopic surgery on his right knee but did travel with the team for practice. According to general manager Ron Hextall it’s probable that he could be in the line up this Saturday against the Rangers.
Flyers are four points out of a wild card spot, so solid goal tending is a must as they continue their push for the playoffs
