Whether you play fantasy baseball for free, or participate in a fantasy baseball money league, you need to find great outfielders. Here is our list of the top 15 picks:
1. Ryan Braun, Milwaukee Brewers
Braun had over 30 HR, 100 RBI and a .300 BA for the fifth time each in six seasons, and also stole over 30 bases for the second straight year.
2. Mike Trout, Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim
Trout was one steal short of becoming the third player in MLB history to have 30 homers and 50 steals in a season. He also hit .326 and his 129 runs scored were 20 more than anyone else.
3. Andrew McCutchen, Pittsburgh Pirates
McCutchen hit .327 and joined Braun and Trout as the only three players to have 30 HR and 20 steals.
4. Matt Kemp, Los Angeles Dodgers
Kemp hit 12 HR in April but would play in just 106 games due to hamstring woes. He is recovering in spring training from offseason shoulder surgery.
5. Giancarlo Stanton, Miami Marlins
Stanton hit 37 HR in 123 games and batted .290. No other Marlin managed 15 HR or 60 RBI, so he was already playing in a lineup without much protection.
Players six through fifteen can be found AFTER the jump…
6. Carlos Gonzalez, Colorado Rockies
Gonzales has had three straight 20-20 seasons with .295 BA. Career 1.003 OPS in Colorado vs. .735 on road.
7. Josh Hamilton, Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim
Hamilton declined after 27-75-.308 first half but still went 16-53-.259 after the break. He hit 21 of his 43 HR on the road.
8. Jose Bautista, Toronto Blue Jays
Bautista had 27 HR before All-Star break but missed most of second half with wrist injury. Power stroke appears back in spring.
9. Justin Upton, Atlanta Braves
Upton has at least 17 HR and 18 steals last four seasons with career .278 BA. Had a .937 OPS in Arizona vs. .731 on road.
10. Jason Heyward, Atlanta Braves
Heyward rebounded from poor second season with career highs in HR (27) and steals (21) though also Ks (152) while hitting .269. Heyward turns 24 in August.
11. Bryce Harper, Washington Nationals
NL Rookie of Year finished strong, hitting 330 in September. Harper was two steals short of a 20-20 season. He could be a great pick in a fantasy baseball money league.
12. Adam Jones, Baltimore Orioles
Jones was one of five players to hit 30 HR with 15 steals and a .280 BA, along with Braun, Trout, McCutcheon and Chase Headley. Has increased HR and steals each of last two seasons.
13. Jay Bruce, Cincinnati Reds
Two straight seasons of at least 30 HR, 95 RBI, 8 steals and .250 BA. Bruce turns 26 in April.
14. Yoenis Cespedes, Oakland Athletics
Cespedes hit .311 with 14 HR, 46 RBI, 51 runs and 10 steals in the second half, finishing with 23 HR, 16 steals and a .292 BA. Came in second in AL ROY to Trout. Cespedes turned 27 in October.
15. Jacoby Ellsbury, Boston Red Sox
Prolific base stealer with .297 career BA. Missed more than half of 2012 after missing almost all of 2010. 32 HR in 2011 but 24 total in rest of career.
