Fairleigh Dickinson stuns Saint Joseph’s at Buzzer

Philadelphia PA: On Friday November 14 from a sold out Hagan Arena on the Campus of Saint Joseph’s University, a new college basketball season began as the Saint Joseph’s Hawks took on Fairleigh Dickinson Knights. Before the game the Hawks raised their 2013-14 Atlantic 10 Championship Banner.

Hawks win the Tip to start the game Hawks score 1st by DeAndre Bembry for 2 points, 2 minutes latter Fairleigh Dikinson gets on board by Xavier Harris for 2 points. The Hawks had a lot of jump early on. Both teams with some good chances and could not finish. Fairleigh Dickson took their 1st lead when Matt MacDonald hits 3 pointer for a 13-10 lead. Hawks would come back and take the lead. both teams would trade scores in the 1st half and the Fairleigh Dickinson takes a 28-25 lead into halftime.

FDU got ball to begin the 2nd half and they continued to increase their lead. Hawks would make couple of runs to cut the lead. The Hawks would take a 41-39 lead with 8:27 left on dunk by Aaron Brown. , FDU would keep the game close. Hawks Chris Wilson & DeAndre Bembry each hit 2 big 3 pointer with under 2 minutes left to gives hawks a 4 point lead. FDU would get lead down to 2 with under 10 seconds left and Philadelphia Native Mustafaa Jones would Hit the Game winning shot as FDU comes to Hawk Hill and steals the game by the score of 58-57 in front of 4,200 at Hagan Arena.
