Dukes Tame Dragons on Senior Night

Philadelphia PA: It is a very special night for those Senior player that play their final home game and that is what we had on Thursday night as the Drexel Dragons took on James Madison Dukes from the Daskalakis Athletic Center on the campus of Drexel University.  Drexel comes into game with (9-20, 3-13 in CAA) and off a loss to Elon on February 18 while James Madison enters battle against the Dragons with (8-21,6-10 in CAA) and off a loss to Towson also on February 18. The starting lineup was all the Seniors (Major Canady, Rodney Williams, Mohamed Bah, Elgin Ford, John Moran).

Drexel won the tip to start the game and they would score right away on basket by Rodney Williams, James madison would get on the board with basket from Jackson Kent, the Dragons would get the lead as high as 6 at 17-11 with 10:45 left, James Madison would go on a run which saw the take their 1st lead of game at 23-22 with 5:31 left. Both teams would trade baskets and James Madison Ivan Lukic would make basket as the buzzer sounds to end as James Madison took a 32-29 lead into halftime.

James Madison got ball to start the 2nd half and both teams would trade baskets and play good defense against each other. The Dragons would get the lead up to 7 at 50-43 with 10:11 left, then the Dukes would go on another run what they would retake the lead at 58-57 with 5:20 left and they would just make it very difficult for Drexel to get back into the game as James Madison would hold on for 70-64 win. Win the win, James Madison goes to (9-21,7-10 in CAA) and end their season at home against Hofstra on February 25 while the Dragons fall to (9-21,3-14 in CAA) and look to rebound against Charleston also on February 25.
