Davidson takes Bite out of Saint Joseph’s

Philadelphia PA: As the month of January comes to end, the grind of conference play continues to help improve your resume for the NCAA tournament as the Saint Joseph’s Hawks took on Davidson Wildcats from Hagan Arena on the Campus of  Saint Joseph’s University. The Hawks come into game with (10-10, 3-5 in A10) and off a win over LaSalle on January 28 while Davidson enters encounter with Hawks with (11-8, 4-4 in A10) and off a win over Fordham.

Davidson won tip to start the game and they would score right away on 3 pointer by Will Magarity for 3-0 lead, Hawks would get on the board with basket by Chris Clover. The Wildcats would take the fight to the Hawks and just make things very difficult for them as they would get the lead as high as 17 at 37-20 with 4:44 left in the 1st half. The Hawks would slowly cut into the lead as Davidson would take a 41-31 lead into halftime.

Saint Joseph’s got ball to start the 2nd half as they would try to get back into the game but things would continue from the first half which was not good shot selection & some questionable calls from the officials. Davidson would get the lead up to 12 points at 55-43 with 10:15 left. The Hawks on multiple times would attempt to get back into the game but the Wildcats would have a response. Davidson comes into Hawk hill and take down the Hawks 75-60 and this loss would hurt the Hawks just by the way they played. With the win, Davidson goes to (12-8, 5-4 in A10) and now head to battle against Rhode Island on Feb 3 and the Hawks (10-11, 3-6 in A10) and have to rebound against Fordham on February 4.
