Dartmouth puts Dent in Quakers Tournament Push

Philadelphia PA: As the final push for the 1st ever Ivy League conference tournament comes down to the final days of the regular season as the Penn Quakers took on the Dartmouth Big Green from the Cathedral of College Basketball, the Palestra on the campus of University of Pennsylvania on Friday night. Penn comes into game with (12-13, 5-7 in Ivy league) and off a loss to Columbia on February 25 while Dartmouth enters encounter against Quakers with (6-19, 3-9 in Ivy League) and off a loss to Yale also on February 25.
Penn won the tip to start the game and they would score the games first 4 points on baskets from AJ Brodeur and Matt Howard for the early 4-0 lead, Dartmouth got on the board with basket from Wesley Dickinson. Dartmouth would take their 1st lead on 3 pointer by Guilien Smith for the 5-4 lead. the Big Green would get the lead as high as 11 at 26-15 with 8:02 left in the 1st half. Penn would go on a run which saw them tie the game at 26 on 3 pointer by Matt Howard with 4:58 left, then the Quakers would go on a 2nd run which saw Matt Howard hit a 3 pointer at the buzzer which would tie the game at 35 at the end of 1st half.
Dartmouth would take control of this game early in the 2nd half which would see them grow the lead as high as 15 points at 54-39 with 13:45 left. The Quakers would not give up that easily as they would go on a couple of runs, the 1st one saw they get the lead down to 1 at 59-58 with 9:45 left, the 2nd run that the Quakers went on which also got the lead back down to 1 at 66-65 with 5:27 left. The final run that the Quakers went on saw them grind all the way back and tie the game at 72 on basket by Darnell Foreman with 1:19 left. Dartmouth would make some clutch shots at the end lead by Guilien Smith. Penn would have a chance to tie the game at the end on shot by Darnell Foreman as Dartmouth comes into the Palestra and put a dent in the Quakers push for the Ivy league conference tournament with a 76-74 win. Win the win, Big Green now goes to (7-19, 4-9 in Ivy League) and head on the road for battle against Princeton tomorrow night while the Quakers with (12-14, 5-8 in Ivy league) look to rebound against harvard with everything on the line tomorrow night.
