Danny Briere about Time in Philly

When you think of the Philadelphia Flyers, you think of fan favorites like Eric Lindors, John LeClair, Keith Primeau, Simon Gagne, Claude Giroux, Scott Hartnell, Ron Hextall, Mike Richards, Jeff Carter & Danny Briere. The Philadelphia Flyers announce that they one of their two compliance buyouts on veteran forward Danny Briere. Briere had two years remaining on the eight-year, $52 million contract he signed back in 2007.

Danny Briere was a guest on WIP Afternoon show with Glen Macnow & Anthony Gargano on Thursday June 21 & Briere said the following:

“I am going to Miss the Flyers Fans”

What was the highlight of your time with flyers:
“The moments that stands the most was the 2010 playoff run to the Stanley Cup Finals”

About Philadelphia:
“When I signed 6 years ago, this was going to be my last stop as hockey player, this is going to be my home”

About future:
“I have to decide in next couple weeks of where I want to go, maybe a teams that wants to sign me”

When did you know you were going to be bought out?
“I knew once the New CBA was signed, since my cap hit was very high, since the cap was going from 70M to 64M”

Did the Flyers come to you about trading you:
“To be honest the Flyers never came to be about asking to trade me”

About the Flyers Organization:
“The way they treat their player, I am proud to say I was a Flyer”

About his time with Flyers:
“My best years personally and professionally were the six I spent in Philadelphia.”
