Chris Weidman defeats Lyoto Machida at UFC 175

Las Vegas NV, The MMA (Mixed Martial Arts) world came to Las Vegas on Saturday night at the Mandalay Bay Events Center to witness a very interesting match up for the UFC Middleweight championship between Chris Weidman vs. Lyoto Machida and the co main event for the UFC Women’s Bantamweight Championship between undefeated champion Ronda Rousey against Alexis Davis.
The first fight that started the Pay Per View was Marcus Brimage vs. Russell Doane, this was a very interesting fight, halfway through the 2nd round when Russell Doane’s left leg starts hurting him from all the kicks from Marcus Brimage. The fight would go the distance and the judges ruled a split decision for Russell Doane over Marcus Brimage by the scores (29-28, 28-29, 30-27). The next fight was Uriah Hall vs. Thiago Santos. Halfway through round 1 is when Uriah Hall breaks his toe and he continued with the fight, UFC Announcer Joe Rogan about Uriah Hall Toe “It is amazing how he is moving if that toe is Broken” the fight would go the distance and Uriah Hall defeats Thiago Santos by unanimous decision (29-28, 29-28 & 30-27). During the post fight interview Uriah Hall said about his broken toe “I could feel the bone move during the fight”.
There was supposed to be a heavyweight fight between Stefan Struve vs. Matt Mitrione, but it was called off because Stefan Struve has passed out in the Locker Room. The UFC Production team decided to show a fight that happened earlier in the night which was Rob Font vs. George Roop and it only lasted 1 round as Rob Font defeated George Roop by Knockout.
The Co Main Event was between Ronda Rousey against Alexis Davis. The fight was over very quickly as Ronda Rousey would knock out Alexis Davis in 16 seconds to retain her UFC Women’s Bantamweight Championship. During the fight announcer Joe Rogan “Alexis Davis has No Idea what just happened”
It is now time for the Main Event as Chris Weidman takes on Lyoto Machida for UFC Middleweight Championship. Chris Weidman came out and took control of the fight through the first 3 rounds and during the 3rd round; Weidman would open up Lyoto Machida. Lyoto Machida comes back with a huge 4th round and makes the fight very close heading into the 5th round; both fighters would leave everything in the ring during the 5th round. the fight goes the distance and Chris Weidman defeats Lyoto Machida by Unanimous Decision (49-45, 48-47 & 49-46) to retain his UFC Middleweight Championship
