Chile Drops Panama in Copa America in Philadelphia

Philadelphia PA: The Copa America matches at Lincoln Financial Field in South Philadelphia  have been very interesting and it continued on Tuesday Night as the final match in group D took place as Panama took on Chile and the winner of this game would move on to the quarterfinals. It was a pro Chile crowd in attendance.

Chile would start the game with the ball and the games first goal came from Panama in the 5th minute as Miguel Camargo shot the ball and the Chile goalie deflected it off his glove and went into the goal for the early 1-0 lead.

Chile would answer back to tie the game in the 15th minute on a goal from Eduardo Vargas and the pro Chile corwd would go crazy

later in the first half, Eduardo Vargas would score his 2nd goal of the game to give Chile a 2-1 lead in the 43rd minute and that would be the score going into the Half and Chile would take control of the match.

Panama would get ball to start the 2nd half and they would come out very aggressive to try to get back into the game but Chile was making things very hard for Panama

One of the most exciting goals scored in this game came from Chile by Alexis Sanchez in the 50th minute to make it 3-1 Chile

Later on, Alexis Sanchez would score his 2nd of the game in the 89th minute to put it away for Chile. A crowd of 20,423 saw Chile take down Panama by the score of 4-2 & in the process would win Group D and advance on to the quarterfinals.  After the game, Chile Eduardo Vargas & Alexis Sanchez refused to speak to the media.
