Charlotte and Chesapeake Advance to Title Game

Chester PA On Saturday August 24 from PPL Park, Professional Lacrosse took center stage as Major League Lacrosse hosted its Championship Weekend for the 2nd time in Philadelphia. The 2 semifinals games were Charlotte Hounds vs Denver Outlaws & Chesapeake Bay Hawks vs Hamilton Nationals. The first game was broadcasted on ESPN2 with Joe Beninati & Quint Kessenich calling the action, while the 2nd game was on CBS Sports Network with Dave Ryan & Evan Washburn calling the action
This championship also featured 6 players who played for the Philadelphia Wings of the Nationals Lacrosse League & they were the following:
Hamilton Nationals: Brodie Merrill, Kevin Crowley & Jordan Hall
Chesapeake Bay Hawks: Drew Westervelt & Jeff Reynolds
Denver Outlaws: Brendan Mundorf
The first game was 4th seed Charlotte Hounds taking on the top seed & Undefeated Denver Outlaws. The first goal of game came from Denver Eric Law. Charlotte first goal came from Jake Tripucka. Charlotte would grow a big lead on Denver, the score at the half is Charlotte up 13-7. In the 2nd half, Denver would make a charge to try to tie the game but they feel short, Charlotte holds on for a 17-14 win. Denver Eric Law was the entire offense for Outlaws scoring a Championship & new team record of 9 goals in the game. This was a big surprise to everyone, no expected Charlotte to make the title game.
The 2nd game was the 2 seed & Defending Champion Chesapeake Bay Hawks taking on the number 3 seed Hamilton Nationals. The first goal of game came from Chesapeake Mike Kimmel for a 2 point goal. The Nationals first goal came from Josh Amidon. This game would be tied at halftime at 6. Hamilton would push hard in the 2nd half, Chesapeake would score 7 goals in the 2nd half to win 13-12. Bay Hawks Mike Kimmel scored a hat trick.
The Chesapeake Bay Hawks will now defend their title against the Charlotte Hounds in the Championship Game Tomorrow at 3PM on ESPN2
