Canelo Alvarez vs. Alfredo Angulo Preview

Las Vegas NV: On Saturday March 8 from the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas Nevada, the big fight feel returns to Las Vegas & on Pay Per View as Canelo Alvarez takes on a dangerous puncher, 31-year-old Mexican countryman Alfredo Angulo in a 12 round Junior middleweight fight which they are calling it “Toe to Toe”. This is the first fight that Canelo Alvarez will be doing since he suffered his 1st career loss to Floyd Mayweather back in September while Alfredo Angulo comes into the fight off a 10RD TKO loss to Erislandy Lara in June. There is a lot of pressure on both of these fighters are they are tying to get back into their winning ways mostly for Canelo Alvarez, if he were to lose this fight it would set Alvarez back immensely regarding future title fights and his brand would take a huge hit. The Fight will be televised on Showtime Pay Per View at 9PM EST with Mauro Ranallo Al Bernstein & Paul Malignaggi calling the action. The first fight that will open the Pay Per View will be a lightweight fight  between  Ricardo Alvarez (23-2-3, 14 KOs), 32, Canelo’s older brother, taking on Mexican countryman and former junior lightweight title challenger Sergio Thompson (28-3, 26 KOs). Canelo Alvarez weigh in at 155 lbs., while Alfredo Angulo  came in at 154.5 lbs. Here is the Linup of what fights will be show on the Pay Per View:

Junior middleweights: Canelo Alvarez (42-1-1, 30 KOs) vs. Alfredo Angulo (22-3, 18 KOs), 12 rounds

CO Main Event:
Junior featherweights: Leo Santa Cruz (27-0-1, 15 KOs) vs. Cristian Mijares (49-7-2, 24 KOs), 12 rounds, for Santa Cruz’s title

Lightweights: Jorge Linares (35-3, 23 KOs) vs. Nihito Arakawa (24-3-1, 16 KOs), 10 rounds

Lightweights: Ricardo Alvarez (23-2-3, 14 KOs), 32 vs Sergio Thompson (28-3, 26 KOs)
