Burns scores winner in SO to lift Sharks past Flyers, 3-2 (The Associated Press)

The San Jose Sharks kept losing defensemen while continuing to stop the Flyers. Matt Irwin and Joe Pavelski scored in regulation, and Brent Burns got the winning goal in the shootout to lead San Jose to a 3-2 victory over Philadelphia on Saturday. San Jose lost defenseman Marc-Edouard Vlasic in the first period due to a lower-body injury and finished the game with just four blue liners after Scott Hannan was bloodied in the face on a third-period hit. ”When you get to four it’s pretty easy, you just keep saying, ‘Next,”’ Sharks coach Todd McLellan said.
